Stroke


Stroke disease is a disease that caused by brain tissuedamage or also called cerebral infarction on the blood vessels.

Decreased blood flow and oxygen is the main cause of braintissue damage, usually caused by constriction, obstruction and rupture of bloodvessels of the brain. The disease is characterized by onset of symptoms todecreased function of the nervous system.

Kinds of stroke :
  • Ischemic stroke (infarction) caused by blockage ornarrowing.
  • Hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding) caused by brain blood vesselhemorrhage.

Ischemic stroke
Ischemic stroke is a blockage of blood vessels that cause blood flow to thebrain stopsa part or whole. Stroke as is common in the community. The frozenblood clots or a block blood flow to the brain, and heart work are weak andcould not pump blood to the brain.

Hemorrhagic stroke
This type of stroke caused by broken blood vessels. This condition is usuallycaused by hypertension.

Hemorrhagic stroke, there are two kinds, namely:
  • Intracerebral haemorrhagic: bleeding occurred in the braintissue.
  • Subaraknoid haemorrhagic: bleeding occurs in subaraknoidspace (space between the surface layer of the brain and the tissue covering thebrain).

Symptoms of a stroke:
  • Muscle weakness left and right or just one part of it, wasstiff, decreased sensory function.
  • The reduced ability sense of smell, taste, hearing andvision partially or wholly, motion decreased reflexes, face looks weird,disturbed breathing and heart.
  • Memory and thinking abilities decline.

Factors causing stroke:
  • Decreased elasticity of blood vessels and atherosclerosis isusually caused by age factor.
  • Medical risk factors such as hypertension, cholesterol,atherosclerosis, heart disorders, diabetes and heredity.
  • Unhealthy behavior, such as: smoking either active orpassive, eating fast food, consume alcohol, lack of exercise, snoring, drugsand obesity.

Prevention of stroke :
  • Stop smoking and alcohol and apply a healthy lifestyle.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • The pattern is simple and regular life.
  • Avoiding stress and depression.
  • Eating - healthy and nutritious foods.
