Penyakit Stroke


Penyakit stroke merupakan penyakit yang terjadi karena kerusakan jaringan otak atau disebut juga infark serebral pada pembuluh darah. Berkurangnya aliran darah dan oksigen merupakan penyebab utama kerusakan jaringan otak, biasanya disebabkan penyempitan, penyumbatanserta pecahnya pembuluh darah otak. Penyakit ini ditandai dengan timbulnya gejala – gejala menurunnya fungsi susunan syaraf.

Stroke


Stroke disease is a disease that caused by brain tissuedamage or also called cerebral infarction on the blood vessels.

PROGNOSIS OF STROKE


The results of stroke vary widely depending on size,location of the lesion, and dysfunctions correspond to areas in the brain thathave been damaged. If the stroke is severe enough or in a certain location suchas parts of the brainstem, coma or death can result. Stroke can affect patientsphysically, mentally, emotionally, or a combination of the three. Disabilityaffects 75% of stroke survivors enough to decrease their employability.

THROMBOTIC STROKE


In thrombotic stroke, a thrombus ( blood clot ) usually forms around atheroscleroticplaques.
Since blockage of the artery is gradual, onset ofsymptomatic thrombotic strokes is slower. A thrombus itself ( even ifnon-occluding ) can lead to an embolic stroke, if the thrombus breaks off, atwhich point it is called an "embolus".

CLASSIFICATION OF STROKE


Strokes can be classified into two major categories :

Ischemic stroke Ischemia is due to interruption of the blood supply. In an ischemic stroke, blood supply to part of the brain is decreased, leading to dysfunction and necrosis of the brain tissue in that area. There are four reasons why this might happen :
