Cataracts


Cataract disease is caused by the eye disruption, commonly experienced by older people. Cataract is a major cause of blindness in the world. Cataracts marked by a fog on the lens of the eye that normally transparent and contain a lot of water to facilitate the light through the lensof the eye. With this fog, it will cause the light can not be forwarded to the central eye.

This disease affects the sufferer slowly that eye senses gradually disrupted. New patients actually feel the disturbance in the eye after 3 - 5 years.

Causative factor of cataract :
  • Exposed to excessive sunlight.
  • Diabetes mellitus (diabetes).
  • Age.
  • Nutritional and vitamin deficiencies.

Cataract Disease symptoms :
  • Often itchy in the eyes.
  • Often had tears in eyes.
  • Can’t see at night.
  • Glare of the sun or lights.
  • Such mist arose in eyes, if left fog that covers the lens will close and cover all parts of the eye lens, so people can not see.

Types of Cataract:
  • Congenital cataracts are cataracts that have occurred since birth and developed in the first year in infants.
  • Traumatic cataract is a cataract that caused by impact on the eyes.
  • Secondary cataracts are cataracts caused by drug consumption such as prednisone and corticosteroids also diabetes.
  • Cataracts by old age.
  • Cataracts can be cured by lasersurgery and artificial lens investment ( intra-ocular lens ), cataract eye surgery it is considered a safe surgery with maximum results.
