PAST PERFECT TENSE

Suatu kegiatan atau kejadian yang terjadi pada masa lampau dan telah selesai.

SUBJECT  +   HAD   +   BEEN   +    OBJECT

SUBJECT  +   HAD   +   VERB. III   +    OBJECT

Contoh kalimat :

1.  ( +  )  :  He had been here before 2000

                  Dia telah disini sebelum tahun 2000

     ( - )    :  He had not been here before 2000

                  Dia belum disini sebelum tahun 2000

     ( ? )    :  Had he here before 2000 ?

                  Apakah dia telah disini sebelum 2000 ?

2.  ( + )   :  Budi had met me last week

                  Budi telah menemuiku minggu lalu

     ( - )    :  Budi had not met me last week

                  Budi belum menemuiku minggu lalu

     ( ? )    :  Had Budi met me last week ?

                  Apakah Budi telah menemuiku minggu lalu ?

3.  ( + )   :  They had given the motorcycle to Ani last month

                  Mereka talah memberikan sepeda motor kepada Ani bulan lalu

     ( - )    :  They had not given the motorcycle to Ani  last month

                  Mereka belum memberikan sepeda motor pada Ani bulan lalu

     ( ? )    :  Had they given the motorcycle to Ani last month ?

                  Apakah mereka telah memberikan sepeda motor pada Ani bulan lalu ?
