Supplementation with melatonin can be recommended for improving quality of sleep patients that associated with alzheimer's disease or dementia, but have to through multiple research more accurate to guarantee accuracy of medication. There are limited research showing if melatonin can improving sleep latency ( time to fall asleep ) in patients with schizophrenia.

At this time, use of melatonin in children for various neuro-psychiatric disorders, including mental retardation, autism, psychiatric disorders, visual impairment, or epilepsy also is developed and investigated more accurately by multiple research. Depression can be associated with neuroendocrine and sleep abnormalities, such as reduced time before dream sleep, so that in this condition melatonin can be suggested for the improvement of sleep patterns in patients with depression, although research about this matter is limited. Several studies have examined the possible role of melatonin in preventing various forms of headache, including migraine, cluster ( headache with the pain only occurs in certain areas that usually around the eyes ) and tension-type headache.
Unclear scientific evidence about melatonin, therefore use of melatonin in the world of medical require further research so that accuracy of medication can be reached.
