GYNECOMASTIA

The magnification of mammae at man be divided become two, include : 

1. Pseudogynecomastia.
The magnification of mammae at man because the increase of fat in the chest area.
Usually occur effect of overweight.

2. Gynecomastia.
The magnification of mammae at man that caused by the increase of tissue at gland of mammae as a result of imbalance between hormone of estrogen and testosteron, where hormone of estrogen relative higher if be compared with hormone of testosteron. At examination of physical, there are mass rather hard that precisely under nipple area. The mass can be moved freely and sometime pain.

New baby born, boy enter age of puberty and old people often experiencing of gynecomastia in consequence of change of hormone rate. The magnification of mammae at boy which enter age of puberty can have the character of physiological and usually occur on one of the mammae and will disappear by itself during 6 months until 2 year. At new man baby born can occur gynecomastia caused by influence of estrogen from mother and this situation will disappear in some week.

The cause that another hormone imbalance causing gynecomastia as follow : 

• Malnutrition
• Cirrhosis
• Syndrome Klinefelter's
• Infection
• Accident
• Cancer
• Renal failure
• Hypertiroidisme
• Drugs that cause of gynecomastia such as spironolakton ( diuretic ), nifedifin, captopril, ketokonazol, metronidazol, ranitidin, simetidin, omeprazol, drug of HIV, diazepam, etc.

Treatment of gynecomastia depend on its cause. If caused by puberty, enough be done observation until gynecomastia disappear. If caused by disease, so disease that constitute must be cured. If caused by drug certain, so drug have to be discontinued. Gynecomastia also can treat with drug assisting to balance hormone rate. In some case, surgery to lift tissue of mammae also can become choice .
